Liverpool Squad

Liverpool FC Team 2011/2012

This is what I hope LFC becomes next season with Commoli and King Kenny doing their magic during the summer transfer window. Alot has been said about the players we want and need but this is from a realistic perspective based on economic capacity, willingness to sell and the club's general transfer policy.
In: Eden Hazard (20 million), Ashley Young (18 million), Brede Hangeland (8 million)
Jose Enrique (6 million), Charlie Adam (6 million), Brad Friedel (3 million)
Alberto Aquilani (return), Emiliano Insua (return)

Gross Total: 61 million

Out: Christian Poulsen (2 million), Sotiros Kyrgiakos (2 million) Milan Jovanovich (3 million),
Paul Konchesky (3 million), Joe Cole (5 million), David Ngog (6 million),

Gross Total: 21 million

Net spending value: 40 million

New LFC 2011/2012 BPL provisional 23 man squad:
Pepe Reina, Brad Freidel, Brad Jones, Glen Johnson, Martin Kelly, Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel, Brede Hangeland, Daniel Agger, Jose Enrique, Fabio Aurelio, John Flannagan, Jay Spearing, Alberto Aquilani, Lucas Leiva, Charlie Adam, Steven Gerrard, Raul Meireles, Eden Hazard, Ashley Young, Dirk Kuyt, Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll.

Starting XI:

 Pepe Reina

Glen Johnson Jamie Carragher Brede Hangeland Jose Enrique

Eden Hazard Steven Gerrard Raul Meireles Ashley Young

   Luis Suarez Andy Carroll

Subs: Brad Friedel, Martin Srktel, Martin Kelly, Daniel Agger, Alberto Aquilani, Charlie Adam, Lucas Leiva, Dirk Kuyt.

These are the most possible transfers for us right now

Now with the aquisition of Hazard and Young, Kuyt can be our third striker. Aquilani, Adam and Lucas are good squad players. Gerrard isn't as young as he used to be so he will need all the support he gets. Daniel Agger is plagued with injury while Martin Skrtel is not consistent in his performances despite playing every game as we had no other choice. Kelly, Spearing and Flannagan are the local lads and they are still growing. Should Hazard be deployed more centrally, Johnson could be moved up to Right Wing and Kelly at Right Back. Aurelio cannot be depended thus having Flannagan and Insua as back up to Enrique would be vital. Options is key for our challenge in the Top Four and I'm sure King Kenny wants to win something next year, my guess the FA Cup therefore rotation will be necessary. If we are to progress we must put aside emotions and think logically. No disrespect to any of them but Lucas and Spearing simply cannot win us tittles although they do have the odd game here and there. Look at Manchester City and Chelsea's bench. Tittles are won by teams who have a quality bench. With this team, I think we should be able to crack into the Top 4 once more and within the season after this finally win the English Premier League with one or two more additions.
